Junior Trader Programme
The Junior Metals Trader programme is aimed
at candidates who have a genuine passion for physical trading and
have already gained a level of relevant working experience (1-3
years) ideally in the physical commodities trading business. You
are given the opportunity to work around one year within Operations
or Deals Desk to achieve a broad understanding of the business
before being placed on a specific commercial desk. An "on-the-job"
training programme is coupled with immediate and intensive product
exposure to ensure you are in the strongest position from which to
begin your trading career.
Trafigura is a global business and candidates will potentially
be offered the opportunity to carry out international placements
and should therefore be globally mobile. Languages, especially
Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, are highly advantageous.
Successful candidates will be educated to degree level (min 2:1 or
equivalent) and have a high level of literacy and clarity when
communicating trading ideas/complex concepts. Good quantitative
skills, communication skills and evidence of previous achievements
